Our History
The origins of Moceri Leasing can be traced to a piece of pie served at the counter of a small diner off Interstate 5 near Tacoma , Washington . Armand Moceri, a young man and father of three, was sitting on a stool in his cousin Rocco’s diner, The Poodle Dog, lamenting his distaste for his job as a frozen foods salesman.  Another man walked up to the counter and took a seat next to Armand. Rocco introduced the man to Armand as Mr. Steven, the owner of Steven Motor Company. Armand, ever the charmer, convinced Mr. Steven that he should hire him to sell cars. Mr. Stevens took a chance on this son of Italian immigrant farmers, and the seed was planted.

Armand quickly rose through the ranks of the dealership, moving from salesman to sales manager, and eventually to partner. In 1964, Armand developed a new way to serve his customers in the form of Moceri Leasing. This became an internal financing wing and gave customers a one-stop place to buy their cars or finance the purchase. Then in 1971, Armand left Steven Motor Company (with Moceri Leasing in tow) to purchase an ailing Chrysler Plymouth dealership in Puyallup (pronounced Pew-all-up).

Steve Moceri, Armand’s middle child and only son, started working as a teenager at his dad’s car dealership as a lot attendant. He worked there through high-school and into college. He became a salesman, then sales manager, then general manager, and finally president/owner (after Armand retired in the early 90’s) with his wife, Joane (pronounced Jo-anne) serving as vice-president and general manager. Steve and Joane sold the dealership in 1997 and Moceri Leasing became the single focus of their efforts.

Today, Moceri Leasing is a multi-million dollar financing company that serves nearly every type of industry from entertainment to farming. Through it all, the commitment to integrity and customer satisfaction has never wavered, and Moceri Leasing stands as a rare breed among its peers, as the company strives to serve the needs of its customers rather than the needs of itself.

Who We Are

Steve Moceri: Steve, as the company president provides vision and leadership for the company. His background in accounting, business and social work, MSW (yes, social work) informs his strong ethic of excellent customer service.

Joane Moceri: Joane serves as the company’s vice-president while simultaneously managing a career as a nurse educator. She is the sounding board for new ideas and directions for the company.

Liz Westerfield: Liz, as the administrative assistant, brings to our customers professionalism, warmth and skill in the accounting and contract detail that is involved in leasing.
